R. Scott French Earns Albright College Alumni Association Award
Reading, PA (04/26/2023) — R. Scott French, New York, N.Y., was honored during an April 2023 Alumni Weekend awards ceremony at Albright College in Reading, Pa. - receiving the college's Mary Fry Good '49 Service to Alma Mater Award.
The Mary Fry Good '49 Service to Alma Mater Award is presented to Albright alumni for outstanding service to their alma mater.
Earning a bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising from Albright College in 1987, R. Scott French possesses a broad skill set within the fashion industry with an eclectic experience ranging from retail and wholesale, to design and production, and most recently public relations. He has been designing under his own label since the late 1980s and has designed his namesake collection of designer men's and women's sportswear since 1999.
An active member of the Council Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), French is a New York runway regular and has shown 10 collections as part of New York Fashion Week. He has appeared on Bravo Network, NBC, Fox News, FuseTV, MetroChannel, Style, TLC, Network and NY1, as well as a myriad of worldwide printed press and hundreds of websites. His body of work has been published in 10 books.
French and a partner also founded VERY New York - a successful bi-coastal virtual public relations and events agency. VERY New York manages the public facing communications for 16 clients nationwide with an organically growing list. In addition, VERY New York produces charitable galas that raise well in excess of $6 million per year and produces a dozen fashion shows per year as part of New York Fashion Week - all from virtual offices managed from their two "bases" in New York City and Los Angeles.
