Ellie Herman of Winfield Spends Summer Engaged in Research, Creative Endeavors

2014 Jun 5

Ellie Herman, a junior psychology major from Winfield, PA, is spending the summer tackling an Albright Creative Research Experience (ACRE) project. Herman's project is "Impression accuracy in Facebook profile true self expresson." Her faculty adviser is assistant professor of psychology Gwendolyn Seidman, Ph.D.

ACRE is a multi-disciplinary program that affords undergraduate students the opportunity to conduct research or pursue creative endeavors during the summer break or the three-week January Interim. Students work alongside faculty mentors. This summer, 19 Albright students are participating in ACREs, working in such fields as biology, psychology, history and theatre. Topics range from drama therapy to 3D printing to the effects of white nose syndrome on bats.

Many collaborative teams of students and faculty present their research at academic conferences and publish their results in professional journals.
