Julianne Lowenstein Honored as Unsung Hero by Reading School District

2017 May 18

Julianne Lowenstein, a senior French/early childhood education major from Philadelphia, Pa., was honored on May 16 as an Unsung Hero by the Reading School District for helping to create a large-scale mural project at Reading Intermediate High School.

Lowenstein was one of several Albright students, who are members of the student chapter of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, who were honored at the school district's Recognition Reception for helping to create red and black murals on each floor of the 12th Street school. The murals contain inspiring messages about goals, drive and legacy.

The project was a collaborative effort with Reading Intermediate, the eastern region of PSEA, and students from Albright, Kutztown University and Penn State Berks.

Reading's Unsung Heroes honor recognizes those who have gone above and beyond to assist the district and/or community.
