Albright College Again Named a College of Distinction

by Carey Manzolillo

Reading, PA (06/17/2022) — Albright College has again been recognized for its commitment to engaging, experiential education by Colleges of Distinction. Promoting engagement over prestige, Colleges of Distinction supports student-centered schools whose primary goals are based on student success and satisfaction.

Colleges of Distinction conducts detailed interviews and in-depth research into each institution's first year experience and retention efforts, alongside general education programs, career development, strategic plan, student satisfaction, etc. Celebrated colleges are distinct in four categories: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community, and Successful Outcomes.

Albright College's education is designed to help students engage the world, understand the world, and be prepared to make an impact. Students create, innovate and tackle life-changing challenges to develop solutions that may not even exist yet.

Students in all programs are encouraged to work one-on-one with faculty mentors through programs like the Albright Creative Research Experience (ACRE). A number of students are also led abroad by faculty to locales such as Costa Rica, Ecuador, Hawaii and more to engage in culture, research and coursework.

"Every student has individual needs and their own environment in which they're most likely to thrive." says Colleges of Distinction founder, Wes Creel. "We're inspired by the ways in which Albright College immerses students in their fields, all while fostering a welcoming community that will support them through and beyond their college years."

Named a top national college by Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education, Albright College (founded 1856) is home to a diverse community of learners who cultivate integrity, curiosity, connection and resilience. Through learning experiences that engage a student's creative and innovative capacities across all disciplines, both inside and outside of the classroom, an Albright College education guarantees that each student learns how to engage the world, understand the world, and is prepared to make an impact on a rapidly changing world. Located in Reading, Pa., Albright is home to undergraduate students, adult learners and graduate students.
