Albright College Ranks Highly for Social Mobility, Research, Public Service

Reading, PA (09/10/2021) — Albright College has been ranked a Top Liberal Arts College and a Best Bang for the Buck in the Northeast by Washington Monthly for 2021. The nonprofit magazine's rankings are based on social mobility, research and providing opportunities for public service.

Based in Washington, D.C., Washington Monthly is a bimonthly nonprofit magazine of U.S. politics and government. The magazine is known for its annual ranking of American colleges and universities, which serves as an alternative to Forbes and U.S. News & World Report rankings.

The organization ranks four-year schools (national universities, liberal arts colleges, baccalaureate colleges and master's universities) based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research and providing opportunities for public service. Ranking America's Best Bang for the Buck Colleges, Washington Monthly rated schools according to "how well they help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices."

Albright College ranked 149 out of only 215 colleges across the country earning Top College honors, and ranked 238 out of 393 schools compromising the Northeast Best Bang for the Buck list.

Named a top national college by Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education, Albright College (founded 1856) is home to a diverse community of learners cultivating integrity, curiosity, connection and resilience. The college's flexible curriculum encourages students to combine and cross majors to create individualized academic programs. Close faculty mentorship and numerous experiential learning options create opportunities for Albright graduates to exceed their own expectations.
