Eric Artz Earns Albright College Alumni Association Award

Reading, PA (04/26/2023) — Eric Artz, Medina, Wash., was honored during an April 2023 Alumni Weekend awards ceremony at Albright College in Reading, Pa. - receiving the college's Jacob Albright Award.

The Jacob Albright Award is the highest honor bestowed upon an Albright graduate. It is presented to alumni who have used their liberal arts education to its greatest potential, thereby making outstanding contributions to the Albright community, their profession and society.

President and chief executive officer for REI Co-op, Eric Artz joined REI in March 2012 as chief financial officer and became chief operating officer and executive vice president in August 2014. He was named the co-op's chief executive in May of 2019.

Holding a bachelor's degree in accounting from Albright College (1989), Artz has led teams in retail, digital, strategy, supply-chain and information technology, and helped the business rise to $3.7 billion in sales for 2021 and a growing community of more than 21 million lifetime members and 16,000 employees.

He is a board member of the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and Challenge Seattle and serves as a non-executive director of United Natural Foods, Inc.
