Galosi accepted to National Theatre Institute Advanced Directing program

Albright College senior, Ben Galosi will spend a full semester at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's award-winning National Theater Institute, next fall. Known as the launchpad of American theater, the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is dedicated to nurturing new work and new artists. Its competitive, semester-long immersive residencies in Waterford, Connecticut allow students to work with master teachers to create theater.

For nine weeks this summer, Albright College Daniel Reyes will attend and perform at the Austrian American Mozart Academy (AAMA) in Salzburg, Austria. The AAMA Opera Summer Program is designed for singers who strive to acquire specialization in the performance of the German Lieder and Operas of W.A. Mozart.

Albright Students Participate in Kennedy Center Theatre Program

Led by Albright Associate Professor of Theatre, Julia Matthews and Technical Director/Master Electrician, Donald Quilinquin, ten Albright College students travelled to the Kennedy Center American College Theater Region II Festival in Pittsburgh, Pa., this January, to participate in dozens of workshops, keynote speeches, invited productions, and theatre design, technology and management competitions.

Four Albright College students brought art to the Greater Reading community by helping to create and install murals at Berks Nature and Kimberton Whole Foods in Wyomissing. A collaborative installation featuring the students' silkscreen printing is also on display in the college's Freedman Gallery.

Students Perform in Jazz Combos Concert

Directed by Mark Lomanno Ph.D., Albright College Jazz Combos are small student ensembles that study and perform in the Black American music tradition of jazz. The ensemble's curriculum is a mix of applied instruction, history, theory and improvisation skills, while live performances feature a repertoire chosen from the entire history of jazz music - in the United States and throughout the world. The Jazz Combos are an integral part of Albright's African American music minor and the rebirth of the college's Africana studies program.
