Cabinet members of Albright College's 2019-2020 Student Government Association have been elected or appointed to advocate for the Albright College student body, liaise between students and college administration, and represent students to the college's Board of Trustees.

Shayla Gaither of Cheltenham, Pa., has earned a $10,000 Toyota Philly Ad Club Scholarship for 2019. These scholarships are presented to students who represent the future of advertising and communications in Philadelphia. A junior at Albright College, Gaither is studying communications/public relations and advertising.

Two dozen Albright College students took part in an annual Lions' Lair business idea challenge this spring, in which competitors present a brief description of their business proposal to a panel of community business leaders and faculty.

Through Albright Creative Research Experience (ACRE) projects, undergraduate students conduct research or pursue creative endeavors outside of regular semester sessions. Student proposals that are accepted by a faculty review board are rewarded with college stipends.

Fifteen members of the Albright College Class of 2019 were named lifetime Jacob Albright Scholars at a ceremony on Sunday, May 5. Established in 1982, the Jacob Albright Society includes Albright graduates with a grade point average of 3.85 or higher, who have completed at least half their course work at the college.

Fifty-five Albright College students presented original artwork for the Freedman Gallery's annual juried student exhibit, this May. Several artists earned prizes and awards, given in different categories during a special reception and many of the exhibitors sold work to visitors.

Twenty Albright College Honors Program students will present senior theses on campus, April 29-May 2, 2019. Each senior thesis is a major undertaking and the culmination of concentrated independent research, vetted by a faculty advisor and a committee of faculty readers.

While a dozen Albright College students traveled to Colorado to build homes with Habitat for Humanity, another dozen travelled to Oklahoma, to care for animals at a wildlife refuge, during Spring Break 2019.

Davis Scholarships cover the full cost of tuition, room and board at Albright College. Four students have been awarded Davis Scholarships this spring. These scholars display strong academic performance and a desire to become creative, critical thinkers who are prepared to better serve their communities after college.

Albright College junior Autumn Blalock has been named a 2019 Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact. A graduate of Fairmont Heights High School in Prince George's County, Md., Blalock is a co-majoring in psychology and theatre at Albright.

While working with Lancaster Partnership for Public Health, Albright student Alma Felix created a short documentary about the negative effects of exposure to lead in children from the Lancaster, Pa., area. The film premiered Tuesday, February 19 at Zoetropolis, Lancaster.

Marina Nye presented scholarly undergraduate work at the annual American Historical Association meeting, held January 3-6 in Chicago, Ill., as part of a competitive undergraduate poster session. Mye's project, "Impact of Sartorial Culture on Female Politics during the French Revolution," was chosen as one of 28 projects to be presented based on a nation-wide call for participants. Beginning as a research paper for a class taught by history professor Guillaume de Syon, Ph.D., Nye's work has since expanded into an honors thesis.
