Albright College

To be eligible for the Dean's List, Albright students must earn a GPA of 3.75 or better while taking a minimum of three letter-graded courses during a semester.

Albright College students are competing as members of the Lions' NCAA Division III varsity basketball, swimming, indoor track and club cheerleading teams this winter.

Fifteen Albright second-year students took part in a Sophomore Disney Leadership Experience at Albright and Walt Disney World over the Interim 2023 session. Students with a GPA of at least 2.5 applied for the program at the end of their first year.

Albright College students are completing internships across a range of areas such as television, radio, fashion, accounting and politics during the spring of 2023.

Students inducted into the Dearden Honor Society must honorably complete five or more accounting, business or economics courses and maintain a 3.45 or higher GPA.

Each semester, Albright College students travel the globe. This Interim semester, faculty are leading groups of students in Ecuador, Prague and Italy.

Taisha Charles presented a paper "Counting Variations of Knights and Knaves Puzzles," at the Mathematics of Various Entertaining Subjects Conference (Summer 2022). The paper follows Charles' one-on-one Summer 2021 Albright Creative Research Experience (ACRE) with Brittany Ohlinger, Ph.D., assistant professor of mathematics. Charles is a high-achieving Albright student, currently pursing a second ACRE on "Question Creation as a Tool to Help Students Learn Mathematics" with Justin Couchman, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology.

Four Albright College students brought art to the Greater Reading community by helping to create and install murals at Berks Nature and Kimberton Whole Foods in Wyomissing. A collaborative installation featuring the students' silkscreen printing is also on display in the college's Freedman Gallery.

Each semester, Albright College students travel the globe. This Interim and spring semester, students are studying in locations such as Paris, Prague, Costa Rica and Mexico.

Through Albright Creative Research Experience (ACRE) projects, undergraduate students conduct research or pursue creative endeavors outside of regular semester sessions. Student proposals that are accepted by a faculty review board are rewarded with college stipends.

Directed by Derrick Thompson, Ed.D., and accompanied by Jeffrey Lentz and Karen Eddinger on piano, the Carols by Candlelight choral concert is the last Albright College choral concert of the fall 2022 season.

Directed by Mark Lomanno Ph.D., Albright College Jazz Combos are small student ensembles that study and perform in the Black American music tradition of jazz. The ensemble's curriculum is a mix of applied instruction, history, theory and improvisation skills, while live performances feature a repertoire chosen from the entire history of jazz music - in the United States and throughout the world. The Jazz Combos are an integral part of Albright's African American music minor and the rebirth of the college's Africana studies program.

All seven Albright College students who applied for The Washington Center's competitive 2023 Inside Washington seminar have been accepted to participate in the fully-funded opportunity. The one-week Inside Washington seminar will be held in Washington, D.C., Jan. 3-11, 2023.

Drew MacDonald has been accepted into Tower Health's eleven month Medical Laboratory Science program at the Reading Hospital School of Medical Laboratory Science and will begin training after graduating from Albright College this spring.

Albright College Founder's Scholar, Leah Strausser of Narvon, Pa., has been accepted into Tower Health's 11 month Medical Laboratory Science program at the Reading Hospital School of Medical Laboratory Science. A graduate of Garden Spot High School studying Molecular Psychobiology with a minor in Evolutionary Studies at Albright, Strausser will begin training after completing her Albright Bachelor of Science degree this spring.

Albright College students and faculty penned "Best of Berks" profiles for Berks County Living magazine's December 2022 issue.

Written by Moliere, adapted by Richard Wilbur and directed by Julia Matthews, "Tartuffe" is performed by Albright College's national award-winning theatre program, fall 2022.

Produced by Albright alumnus R. Scott French '87 of VERY New York and boasting a crew of 50 Albright students, Albright's 2022 New York Fashion Week show featured designs by alumni and current Albright students.

Experience program completion is earned for attending at least a dozen cultural and academic events that range from lectures and exhibitions to concerts and theatrical performances on the Albright College campus. The result is a student-driven learning experience in which each student chooses his or her own adventure.

Joshua Templin and Michael Thomas have been named co-editors of the Albrightian newspaper. Ryan Elmore has been named the student-run newspaper's secretary.

Arranged by the college's gospel ensemble, a Nov. 6 Sunday worship gospel concert will be directed by Derrick L. Thompson, Ed.D. and is free and open to the public.

Taking on a highly-responsible position, Resident Assistants (RAs) lead and support the development of each individual in Albright's residence halls and apartments. RAs develop positive personal relationships with residents, collaborate with campus offices, empower residents to effectively interact with classmates, and uphold Albright community standards. They are highly trained in safety, as well as campus resources, programming and policies.

Albright students have been named to leadership positions within the college's clubs and organizations for 2022.

Working with Executive Board members, Cabinet members of Albright College's 2022-2023 Student Government Association have been elected or appointed to advocate for the Albright College student body, liaise between students and college administration, and represent students to the college's Board of Trustees.

Continuing the Domino Players' tradition of premiering original work, this company-created piece explores the many faces of "home," and investigates the different ways we construct, inhabit and engage with our families, our communities, our country, the places we call home and our shared digital worlds. "The Big House" opens Thursday, Sept. 29.
